EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting at the series' near-midpoint, episode 5 follows the catastrophic fallout of episode 4's large-scale destruction, which effectively cleared the board for this transition. The introduction of new pilots fundamentally redirects the narrative, establishing the team that will drive the remaining eight episodes. This is the foundation for the back half of the series, where the new generation must prove they can sustain humanity's fight against the Invaders.
