EPISODE CONTEXT
At episode six of twenty-four, the series is firmly in its foundation-laying phase — establishing the web of relationships the Count will eventually pull apart. Prior episodes introduced the Count's magnetic hold over Albert and hinted at his hidden agenda; this episode widens the lens to include the Danglars household, embedding the Count deeper into Parisian high society through financial ties. It sets up the social and emotional fault lines that later episodes will exploit as his plan of revenge accelerates.
