EPISODE CONTEXT
This is the direct conclusion to Episode 40's cliffhanger, resolving the conflict introduced when Maetel was captured and Tetsuro first crossed paths with Tetsuguro inside the spherical complex. As a self-contained filler arc sitting at the one-third mark of the 113-episode series, it doesn't advance the overarching journey toward the terminal planet but offers a breather adventure between larger narrative beats. Once resolved, the 999 moves on, leaving this world behind and reopening the road ahead for Tetsuro and Maetel.
