EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting just past the midpoint of The Third Plate's twelve episodes, 'It Begins' transitions the season from Azami's establishment of power — building since 'The Imprisoned Queen' — into the active rebellion phase. Previous episodes laid the groundwork by showing how his regime suffocates Tootsuki's culinary diversity; now Souma steps into direct opposition. This episode is the launchpad for the confrontations that will define the season's back half.
