EPISODE CONTEXT
As the series premiere of a 12-episode run, 'Ghost Maiden' is pure foundation — it introduces the central duo of Teiichi and Yuuko, establishes the supernatural rules of Seikyou Academy, and plants the seeds of the overarching mystery surrounding Yuuko's forgotten past. The Paranormal Investigations Club is set up here as the vehicle through which subsequent episodes will unravel the school's layered ghost stories. Everything from here builds toward uncovering who Yuuko truly was and what she's lost to amnesia.
