EPISODE CONTEXT
This episode closes the door on the extended Turtle Hermit training arc and opens the World Martial Arts Tournament saga, a major early milestone for Dragon Ball. Everything Goku and Krillin endured under Roshi was building to this competitive stage, and the upcoming episodes will test whether that training holds up against real opponents. At episode 19 of 153, the series is establishing its core rhythm of train-then-fight that will define much of what follows.
