Synopsis

In 2138, humanity is spread across thousands of star systems, and two women work as government-licensed problem solvers. Kei and Yuri are officially called the Lovely Angels. Everyone else calls them the Dirty Pair, and there's a reason for that. They do solve their cases. They also tend to leave a trail of destroyed infrastructure, leveled buildings, and general chaos behind them — usually while insisting none of it was their fault. The 3WA keeps sending them out anyway. It's that or admit they've run out of better options. The dynamic between the two carries the whole show. Kei is impulsive and physical, Yuri is sharper and more calculating, and together they're somehow both more competent and more destructive than either would be alone. The 24-episode TV series moves fast — each case is mostly self-contained, which makes it an easy watch without much commitment per episode. The 1985 Sunrise animation holds up better than you'd expect, with a color palette and energy that feels distinctly of its era in a good way. If you liked Cowboy Bebop's episodic bounty-hunting structure but want something lighter and less melancholy, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Gunsmith Cats will also find familiar DNA here — competent women, guns, action, and a lot of comedy coming from the chaos of the job. It's not trying to be deep. It's two women causing mayhem across the galaxy, and it's genuinely fun to watch.
