Detective School Q
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Logic practically hardwired into his brain, Kyuu Renjou is the kind of kid who solves problems most adults can't. When he discovers the Dan Detective School, a place where students actually train to become real detectives, he jumps at the chance. During the entrance exam, he ends up working alongside four other students who couldn't be more different: Megumi, who remembers everything she's ever seen; Kintarou, who solves problems with his fists; Kazuma, who can crack any system; and Ryuu, who's quiet in a way that makes you wonder what he's thinking. Together they become Class Q, the school's top group, and start taking on cases that are genuinely layered and thought through. The mysteries here aren't throwaway puzzles — they're constructed carefully enough that paying attention actually matters. The tone shifts comfortably between the team goofing around between cases and the real tension that builds when things get serious. It never feels like two different shows fighting each other. If you grew up on Detective Conan and want something with a tighter cast dynamic, this scratches that itch well. Fans of Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna or Gosick who like their mystery anime character-driven will find familiar ground here. The 45-episode run gives the group room to actually grow rather than staying static, which makes the overarching story feel earned rather than rushed.
