Chivalry of a Failed Knight
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At an academy for soul-weapon wielders, Ikki Kurogane holds the lowest possible rank — literally classified as an F-tier Blazer in a world that ranks magical talent like letter grades. Everyone calls him the 'Worst One,' and his own family has basically written him off. Then he walks in on Stella Vermillion — an A-ranked princess from another country — changing clothes, and she challenges him to a duel where the loser becomes the other's servant. You'd expect him to get destroyed, but here's where it gets interesting: Ikki has almost zero magical ability, so he's spent years compensating with pure swordsmanship and tactical thinking. The underdog angle actually pays off in this one. What sets this 12-episode TV series apart from similar shows is that the romance between Ikki and Stella doesn't just tease you for the entire run. They actually get together and develop as a couple, which is weirdly rare for this kind of setup. The fight scenes from SILVER LINK. and Nexus are genuinely well-animated too, not just still frames with speed lines. If you watched The Asterisk War and thought the premise was fine but the execution was flat, this is basically the version that delivers. Fans of Absolute Duo or Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance will recognize the formula — magical school, tournament arcs, ecchi moments — but the protagonist here earns his wins through effort rather than hidden chosen-one powers, and that makes the whole thing land differently.
