📖 SYNOPSIS
A 14-year-old insomniac named Kou Yamori ditched school and started wandering the streets at night, which is how most vampire stories begin but usually not by choice. He's trying to fall in love with Nazuna, a laid-back vampire who drinks his blood during their late-night hangouts, because that's the only way to turn. The catch — he's got a deadline, and falling in love on command is about as easy as it sounds.
Season 2 picks up with the clock ticking and things getting messier. Kou's childhood friends Mahiru and Akira are now aware of the whole vampire situation, which complicates everything. A mysterious nurse named Haru shows up looking suspiciously like Nazuna, and a detective named Anko starts hunting vampires by going after the humans close to them. The stakes shift from "can Kou figure out his feelings" to "can anyone in this story stay safe."
The vibe here is what makes it special. LIDENFILMS nails the neon-lit nighttime atmosphere, and the Creepy Nuts soundtrack gives every rooftop conversation this dreamy, melancholic weight. It's romantic without being saccharine, introspective without dragging. If you liked the supernatural banter of Bakemonogatari or the moody character dynamics in Noragami, this hits a similar frequency. There's also that Owarimonogatari quality of peeling back layers on characters who seem simple at first. Twelve episodes, and the pacing stays tight throughout.
