Bogus Skill : About That Time I Became Able to Eat Unlimited Numbers of Skill Fruits (That Kill You)
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The rules are simple: eating a Skill Fruit gives you one ability for life, and eating a second one kills you — but Light Underwood rolls the worst possible skill: Fruitmaster. It literally just makes him better at growing fruit. Meanwhile, his childhood friend Lena gets Sword Saint, becomes an S-rank adventurer, and basically leaves him in the dust. So Light's stuck farming while everyone else is out slaying monsters. Except here's the thing — his garbage-tier skill has a hidden interaction nobody saw coming. Fruitmaster doesn't just let him grow better fruit. It lets him eat more Skill Fruits without dying. Suddenly the guy with the most useless ability in the world has access to unlimited power-ups, and the show becomes about him stacking skills and catching up to a world that wrote him off on day one. The power system here is genuinely clever, since every fruit is a gamble and eating one is supposed to be a one-shot deal. It gives the whole thing a different flavor than your standard isekai power fantasy. If you liked the underdog energy of The Rising of the Shield Hero or the "weak-to-broken" progression in Arifureta, this hits a similar nerve. There are also shades of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime in how Light keeps absorbing new abilities and finding creative uses for them. It's a 12-episode TV series from Asahi Production airing in 2025, adapted from the manga. The tone leans more fun than serious, but Light's early frustration grounds it enough to keep you invested.
