Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When it comes to gauging personal distance, Reina Aharen is so hopeless that she'll either whisper from across the room or press her face directly against yours. Her classmate Raidou, a stone-faced guy who overthinks everything to absurd conclusions, somehow became her boyfriend by the end of season one. Now they're second-years, and season two picks up right where things left off — with the two of them being awkward and adorable while completely misreading every social situation around them. This time around, a transfer student named Riku Tamanaha shakes things up. She's outgoing, stylish, and turns out to be a childhood friend Reina lost touch with years ago. Watching Reina try to navigate reconnecting with someone from her past, with Raidou quietly supporting her in his own deadpan way, gives the season a bit more emotional texture without losing what made the first season work. The vibe here is cozy and low-stakes. Each episode is built around small moments — lunch breaks, after-school hangouts, tiny misunderstandings that spiral into something ridiculous. Felix Film keeps the character designs expressive enough that Reina's blank stare and Raidou's wild internal monologues land every time. If you liked Komi Can't Communicate or Teasing Master Takagi-san, this hits a similar sweet spot of gentle comedy and romance. Fans of My Senpai is Annoying will also feel at home with the dynamic here. It's 12 episodes of warm, funny, easygoing comfort viewing.
