Synopsis

Barely audible, impossibly tiny, and completely lacking any sense of personal space, Aharen Reina is a walking contradiction. One moment she's whispering from across the room where nobody can hear her, the next she's close enough to breathe on your neck. Her seatmate Raidou, a tall guy with a permanently stoic face, just wants to be friends — but his deadpan expression makes him look like he's plotting something at all times. Their friendship kicks off because he picks up her eraser, and she immediately decides they're best friends now. That's the whole premise, and it works way better than it has any right to. This 12-episode TV series from 2022 is basically a comedy about two socially clueless people trying to figure out normal human interaction and failing in the most endearing ways possible. Raidou's internal monologues are hilariously overwrought — he'll witness Aharen doing something mundane and somehow conclude she's a secret martial arts master or an undercover spy. Meanwhile, she's just being herself and has no idea what's happening. The romantic tension builds slowly and naturally underneath all the absurdity, which gives it a warmth that keeps you watching. If you liked Komi Can't Communicate for the social anxiety humor or Teasing Master Takagi-san for the slow-burn sweetness between two leads, this fits right in that lane. It's quieter than both, though — more deadpan, more gentle. A nice show to wind down with when you want something funny without needing to think too hard.

this ep is wholesome vibes for me. The snow makes everything feel so relaxing, and seeing Raido and Aharen deal with the cold in their own weird way is hilarious. The igloo scene was honestly too cute, and the ending really hits your feeling.
i really enjoyed this episode, the camping trip! Raido’s survival "skills" are over the top, and Aharen handle the outdoors in her own quiet way is just precious. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful nature vibes and that signature deadpan humor.
such a cute and sweet episode. Raido getting sick and Aharen trying to "nurse" him back to health is so funny! The way she tries to be helpful while having zero sense of distance makes for some of the best moments yet.
