A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After learning he was switched at birth, Nagi Umino has a lot to process. Then his biological parents decide he should marry their adopted daughter, Erika Amano — the girl who got his life while he got hers. Now they're living under the same roof, along with Nagi's protective sister Sachi and Hiro Segawa, the classmate he's actually been crushing on. Season 2 picks up with this already messy domestic arrangement and throws in one more wrench: Ai Mochizuki, Nagi's childhood friend, returns from abroad and casually announces she plans to marry him too. So now there are four girls with varying claims on this one guy's future, and he's mostly just trying to keep his grades up. The appeal here is watching the relationship dynamics shift in real time. Each girl has a genuine connection to Nagi that goes beyond surface-level crush material — there's family obligation, shared history, academic rivalry, and actual emotional vulnerability woven through the comedy. The humor stays light and the romantic tension keeps building across the 12 episodes without feeling like it's stalling. If you liked the harem puzzle-box setup of 5-toubun no Hanayome or the fake-relationship comedy of Nisekoi, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's got that Love Hina energy of cohabitation chaos but with a more modern feel, including social media dynamics and family expectations that actually matter to the plot. A solid rom-com that knows exactly what it is.
