Zangetsu helping Ichigo see through those illusions was a great touch since it showed their actual bond

Byakuya using the spirit energy of the other captains, and then sealing that massive hole in the sky, was a cool way to show he's back on the right side.

That Muramasa hollow transformation looked super creepy and the fight choreography was impressive

I felt so bad for Muramasa at the end because he just wanted his owner back and got betrayed instead

I actually teared up a bit when Muramasa realized how much he messed up right before he died. It was such a sad way for him to go after being treated like a tool by Koga for so long. Even if it was just filler, I think his story was handled way better than most of the canon villains we usually get.

Byakuya thanking Ichigo for the help was a cool moment after his fake betrayal

When Ichigo was just letting Muramasa toss him around, I couldn't help but wonder why he wasn't just pulling out his Hollow mask. It was right there, and my patience was wearing thin seeing him struggle when he clearly had the power to end the fight in a flash.

When Muramasa finally faded away, I was genuinely caught off guard by how sad I felt for him, even knowing he was just a filler. His whole existence, fighting for a place he couldn't have, really made me think about all the times characters struggle with their purpose, and this ending was surprisingly dramatic for a non-canon arc.

My jaw practically dropped at how brutal and intense that finale's action got, but then Ichigo, true to form, tried to connect with the villain even as things were wrapping up. I find myself torn; part of me understands his drive to see the humanity in everyone, but another part just wants him to end it when the fight's on the line, you know?

I seriously didn't see Muramasa becoming a hollow coming, but looking back, it makes so much sense given his intense loyalty and dependence on Koga. It was just so tragic watching him completely unravel after Koga's rejection, like his whole existence was meaningless without that bond.

Muramasa's entire existence just wanting Koga to acknowledge him was heartbreaking, I really felt that despair as his own soul started to fracture. When Ichigo finally offered that mercy within his spirit, it was the only fitting conclusion to such a sad story, and honestly, my chest ached watching him fade away like that.

The way Ichigo threw himself into that mind battle with Muramasa, I couldn't help but feel he was fighting not just for victory, but to reclaim a part of himself, a fight I haven't seen him wage with such raw desperation since his early days. It made me really think about how deeply Muramasa's actions were affecting him, stirring up a kind of primal fury I almost forgot he possessed.

Those zanpakuto flying back to their shinigami gave me such a huge sense of dramatic closure, I truly thought that was the beautiful, definitive end we'd all been waiting for. It still frustrates me to no end that the arc kept going after that, because to me, it felt like a perfectly orchestrated farewell that was then just undermined.

Ichigo extending that unexpected comfort to Muramasa, a filler villain no less, genuinely made me pause and feel for both of them. It was wild how much that moment of understanding and peace, before he completely faded, cemented the tragedy of Muramasa's entire lonely existence, making me realize just how much Ichigo truly *gets* people, even his enemies.

I honestly didn't expect to see Byakuya show any real emotion at the very end; it caught me off guard since he's always so composed, and it made me question what was truly going on in his head during those final moments. Seeing even a hint of vulnerability from him just amplified the weight of the entire conclusion for me.

When Ichigo finally confronted Muramasa *inside* his own inner world, man, that just felt so right and intense, like a true clash of wills that really gets to the heart of what a zanpakuto is to its wielder, way more than I expected from a filler arc.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 255 caps off the extended Zanpakutō Rebellion filler arc, which saw Muramasa manipulate the Soul Reapers' zanpakutō spirits into revolt — previous episodes escalated through Muramasa's true motives being revealed and his increasingly unstable transformation. As the final chapter of this anime-original storyline, it wraps up the rebellion's consequences and transitions the series back toward canon material and the challenges that await the Soul Society next.
