You and Idol Precure♪
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Uta Sakura is a middle schooler whose whole world revolves around singing, which is a pretty standard trait for a middle schooler in anime — until she fishes a peach-shaped fairy out of a river while walking her dog. Purirun comes from KirakiLand, a place that used to be all sparkle and light before a villain named Darkine and his Chokkiri Gang decided to drain the joy out of everything. Uta's determination to help unlocks her transformation into Cure Idol, and she's soon joined by classmates Nana Aokaze and Kokoro Shigure as the three of them take on the forces trying to snuff out happiness itself. This is a 49-episode TV series from Toei Animation and the latest entry in the Precure franchise, but what sets it apart is how fully it leans into idol culture. The transformation sequences come in dual styles — including something called 'God Idol Style' — which is a first for the series. There's actual singing and dancing woven into the action, not just tacked on. The soundtrack carries a lot of weight here. If you liked the performance energy of Love Live! School Idol Project or Aikatsu! but wanted it wrapped in magical girl battles, this is exactly that crossover. It's got the sparkly optimism of Pretty Rhythm with real fight choreography underneath. The tone is bright and action-packed, and at 49 episodes, it has room to let its characters actually grow into their roles.
