The anime unfolds in Tensho 10 (1582), a tumultuous era of warring factions in Japan. Akechi Mitsuhide, under orders from Nobunaga Oda, embarks on a mission to Saigoku to reinforce Hideyoshi Hashiba. His journey takes him through Oenosaka, a location steeped in history and mystery. There, he unexpectedly encounters the ghost of Shuten-doji, a demon whose existence was once extinguished by Mitsuhide's ancestors.
