馃摉 SYNOPSIS

"The Rose of Versailles" chronicles the life of Lady Oscar, a woman raised as a man to serve as a military leader in the court of Versailles. Set in the lavish yet volatile years leading up to the French Revolution, the anime explores themes of identity, duty, and social disparity. Oscar's position places her amidst the extravagance of the aristocracy, where she is admired for her strength and grace. However, her compassion and keen awareness of the growing poverty and discontent among the common people create internal conflict. Torn between her loyalty to the monarchy and her empathy for the oppressed, Oscar navigates the complex political landscape while confronting her own desires and the societal constraints placed upon her. The series examines the clash between privilege and poverty, and the personal struggles within a society on the brink of upheaval.
