The Quintessential Quintuplets~
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Broke, brilliant, and desperate for cash, Futaro Uesugi lands a high school tutoring gig, only to discover his students are five identical quintuplet sisters who all happen to be terrible at school. Sounds straightforward, except each sister has a completely different personality, and most of them want nothing to do with him. This TV special covers manga stories that the main anime skipped over, giving fans of the Nakano sisters — Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki — a couple more episodes worth of comedic and romantic moments that flesh out the group dynamic. Studio Shaft handles the animation here, which brings a slightly different visual flavor compared to the original series. The vibe is warm and easygoing, mostly slice-of-life hangouts and character interactions rather than big dramatic arcs. It's the kind of thing where you watch Futaro try to keep five very different girls on track academically while they each develop feelings for him at their own pace, and somehow none of it feels forced. If you liked the romantic comedy juggling act in Love Tyrant or the ensemble character energy of Isekai Quartet, this hits a similar sweet spot of balancing a large cast without losing what makes each person distinct. Fair warning though — this is supplementary material, not a standalone entry point. Watch the main Quintessential Quintuplets series first, then come back to this for the scenes you didn't know you were missing. At just two episodes, it's a quick and satisfying revisit.
