EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting at the one-third mark of a 12-episode run, 'Pitfall' follows the curse-heavy events of Episode 3, 'Malediction,' and shifts focus toward the fallout and moral weight of Mikado and Hiyakawa's work together. This is a transitional episode that deepens character dynamics and plants seeds for the revelations coming in Episode 5, 'Past,' which promises to unpack backstory. It's a deliberate deceleration that builds the foundation the back half of the season will need.
