EPISODE CONTEXT
This is part two of the Castle of Wax multi-episode arc, following the first episode's establishment of the setting, cast, and the 'Mystery Night' premise at Balt Castle. The tension and mystery deepen here as the episode bridges the initial setup with the coming revelations. Early in the series at episode 8 of 148, this arc is still establishing Kindaichi's credentials as a detective and building the dynamic between him, Miyuki, and recurring rival Akechi.
