Pardon the Intrusion, I'm Home!

Synopsis
At 24, office worker Rinko Nakama guards her secret otaku life like a dragon guards treasure. Her apartment is her sanctuary — the one place she can binge manga and fangirl in peace. Then a hole appears in her wall. And then another one, on the other side. Suddenly she's got two male neighbors with direct access to her living space and, more critically, to the carefully hidden shelves of manga she doesn't want anyone knowing about. On one side there's Akito, a suspiciously charming guy who's way too nice and way too attentive. On the other side is Haruma, who's gruff and standoffish — and who Rinko is pretty sure she recognizes from somewhere. Without giving too much away, let's just say his connection to her favorite manga series makes things very complicated very fast. The whole setup is ridiculous in the best way. Three adults who didn't sign up for communal living trying to maintain boundaries when there are literally holes in the walls between them. The comedy lands because Rinko's constant panic about protecting her otaku identity feels genuinely relatable — that specific anxiety of keeping your nerdy side separate from your professional life. If you liked Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, this hits a similar sweet spot of adults being dorky and falling for each other. It also has some of that chaotic cohabitation energy from Love Hina, just with a more modern, shoujo-flavored spin. Tatsunoko Production is handling the animation for this 2026 TV series, adapting a web manga that already has a solid following.
