EPISODE CONTEXT
Following the premiere's introduction of Ushio's mysterious death and the island's strange atmosphere, episode two escalates the supernatural framework that will drive the entire 25-episode run—establishing the central threat of the 'Shadows' early enough to let the series build complexity on top of it. This is foundational setup territory, deepening the rules of the world and the danger facing Shinpei before the plot accelerates in subsequent episodes.
