Shrouding the Heavens

Synopsis
A group of thirty-three former college classmates meet up for a reunion, which is pretty normal until they stumble across an ancient bronze coffin chained to nine massive dragon corpses drifting through space. Next thing they know, they're ripped from Earth and dropped onto an unknown planet with no way home. That's the setup for Zhe Tian, a 156-episode ONA from Original Force that blends sci-fi and cultivation fantasy in a way that actually works. The early episodes lean into the mystery — who built the coffin, why were the dragons there, and what is this world they've landed in — before the story opens up into a sprawling martial arts journey where the cast has to figure out cultivation systems, navigate dangerous factions, and deal with the fact that not all of their classmates have the same idea about survival. The character dynamics carry a lot of weight here. These aren't strangers thrown together; they have history, grudges, and loyalties that shift as the stakes get higher. If you liked the dark fantasy worldbuilding in Ever Night or the mythic scale of Tian Wu Ji, this hits similar notes but with a sci-fi origin that gives it a different flavor. Fans of Thunderbolt Fantasy's blend of spectacle and lore will also find a lot to dig into. It's a long ride at 156 episodes, but the pacing keeps things moving and the cultivation progression stays engaging throughout.
