Inspired by her idol, Suzune Miyama enters the "Selection Project" audition, a competition with thousands of hopefuls, to pursue her dream of becoming an idol.

📖 SYNOPSIS

For nearly all of her 14 years, Suzune Miyama has been confined to a hospital bed with a weak heart, but she's kept herself going by watching idol competitions — specifically the Selection Project, a nationwide audition that pulls in over 100,000 hopefuls each year. When the seventh season rolls around, she decides to enter, which is already a big deal given her health. She makes it through regionals with a genuinely moving performance, but the real story kicks in when she ends up competing alongside Rena Hananoi — the younger sister of the legendary idol who inspired Suzune in the first place. Rena's got her own baggage, trying to step out from under her sister's shadow, and watching these two circle each other as rivals and potential friends is where the show finds its heart. The nine finalists live together, face elimination challenges, and deal with the kind of pressure that makes you root for all of them. Doga Kobo handles the animation, so the performance sequences actually look and feel like real performances rather than generic stage scenes. The 13-episode run keeps things tight — no filler arcs dragging things out. If you liked the emotional weight of Idoly Pride or the group dynamics of Love Live, this hits a similar spot but leans harder into the audition process itself. It's closer to a competition drama than a pure idol show, with real stakes tied to the characters' personal lives. Worth the time if you're into that lane.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love idol competition shows and don't mind familiar genre tropes done competently
Doga Kobo's clean character designs and well-integrated CGI performance sequences appeal to you
Suzune's underdog arc—a sickly girl chasing her idol dream—sounds like your kind of emotional hook
Catchy idol tracks like "Glorious Days" are enough to carry a 13-episode feel-good binge

❌ SKIP IF...

You want deep supporting cast development—most girls get one defining trait and little else
You're tired of standard idol anime storylines and need something that breaks the mold
Rushed character arcs that resolve in a single episode would kill your emotional investment
