EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting deep in the back third of the series at episode 71 of 94, this filler installment follows a major setback for Kenshin in episode 70 and uses the breathing room to explore the rebel faction's internal politics. It bridges the gap toward episode 72, where the conspiracies seeded here begin to surface in more direct confrontations. Skippable for canon purists, but it adds texture to the anime-original storyline running through this stretch of the series.
