EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 27 closes out the standalone Red Pirate filler arc that began with episode 26's introduction of the mysterious female pirate Shura. Sitting roughly a quarter of the way through the 94-episode run, this episode bridges the gap between early Tokyo-based stories and the landmark Kyoto Arc that looms ahead, making it one of the last detours before the series shifts into significantly higher narrative stakes.
