Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When a vending machine obsessive kicks the bucket, he gets reincarnated as a vending machine. Not a sword, not a slime, not a dragon — a literal vending machine. That's the premise of this 12-episode TV series, and honestly, it works way better than it has any right to. Our protagonist was obsessed with vending machines in his previous life, and now he is one, stuck in a fantasy dungeon world where he can't move, can't speak freely — he can only say pre-programmed vending machine phrases like "Please insert coins" and "Thank you." His entire communication system is basically yes-or-no answers delivered through stock phrases. Then Lammis shows up, a cheerful girl blessed with superhuman strength, and she just picks him up and carries him around like a backpack. Their dynamic is the core of the show — she provides the legs, he provides cold drinks and surprisingly useful items. The comedy comes from watching a vending machine try to solve fantasy-world problems using nothing but product dispensing and feature upgrades. It's got that same oddball isekai energy as Reincarnated as a Sword or Campfire Cooking in Another World, where the fun is in the absurd premise played mostly straight. If you enjoyed the workplace dysfunction of Dungeon of Black Company, the comedic tone here hits a similar spot. The pacing is light, the jokes land more often than not, and at 12 episodes it never overstays its welcome. It's comfort food anime — just dispensed from an unlikely source.
