EPISODE CONTEXT
This is the second part of a three-episode Lugia arc, following 'The Mystery is History' where Team Rocket captured a baby Lugia, raising the stakes considerably. 'A Parent Trapped!' deepens that crisis by focusing on the desperate rescue efforts and the emotional toll on both humans and Pokémon. It directly sets the stage for the arc's conclusion in 'A Promise is a Promise', where the Lugia family's fate will be resolved.
