Play It Cool, Guys
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Picture a group of guys walking into doors, tripping over nothing, and accidentally dropping their phones in public. Instead of panicking, they just... act like it was intentional. That's the whole show, and it's weirdly relaxing. Cool Doji Danshi follows Shiki, Hayate, Shun, and Takayuki — a college student, a high schooler, an office worker, and a design student — who all share the same curse of being naturally clumsy. The catch is that each of them reflexively plays off every stumble with a calm, unbothered expression, which somehow makes the people around them swoon instead of laugh. The comedy comes from that gap between their internal panic and their outward composure, and it never gets old because each guy handles it differently based on his personality and situation. This is pure iyashikei comfort viewing. No drama, no central conflict, just 24 short episodes (about 15 minutes each) of low-stakes slice of life built around character-driven humor and quiet charm. It's the kind of thing you put on when you want something gentle that still makes you smile. If you liked the cozy energy of The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague or the everyday absurdity of Daily Lives of High School Boys, this hits a similar spot — just softer and more understated. Think of it as Tanaka-kun is Always Listless but with clumsy cool guys instead of a sleepy one. Studio Pierrot keeps the animation clean and the color palette warm, matching the whole vibe perfectly.
