After receiving a letter from her future self, a high school student named Naho must navigate her present, and the arrival of a new classmate, to prevent a tragic future.

📖 SYNOPSIS

On the first morning of her sophomore year, Naho Takamiya oversleeps and finds a letter in her mailbox — from herself, ten years in the future. The letter tells her that a new transfer student named Kakeru Naruse is about to join her friend group, and that she needs to watch over him. It also tells her that her future is full of regrets, and that she has a chance to fix them. At first Naho thinks it's a prank, but when things start playing out exactly as the letter describes, she can't ignore it anymore.

This 13-episode TV series is set in the real town of Matsumoto, and the whole thing has this warm, grounded feel even with the sci-fi premise baked in. It's really a story about regret, about the small moments where you didn't speak up or reach out, and what it would mean to get a second shot at those. The romance between Naho and Kakeru builds slowly and honestly, and her circle of friends — Suwa, Takako, Hagita, Azusa — all feel like real people with their own stakes in what's happening.

If you liked the emotional gut punches of Anohana or the bittersweet tone of Your Lie in April, this hits a similar nerve. It's not trying to be flashy. It's quiet, it's tender, and by the end it earns every tear it asks for.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You want a high school drama that tackles depression and suicide with genuine sensitivity
Tight friend group dynamics—where five friends rally around one struggling person—sound appealing
A time-travel premise built on letters from the future adds a unique hook to romance
You're into slow-burn, character-driven storytelling over 13 episodes—no rush, all heart

❌ SKIP IF...

Telecom Animation Film's visuals noticeably dip mid-season—especially around episode nine—and that'll bug you
You want the sci-fi time-travel mechanics fully explained, 'cause this keeps it vague
Heavy themes like suicidal ideation run throughout all 13 episodes—not a light watch at all
