TOUGEN ANKI Mini Anime
Oshimeter
Synopsis
For centuries, Oni and Momotaro have been locked in a nonstop clash, which sounds like the setup for an epic battle series — and it is, over in Tougen Anki. But Onimomomomo takes those same characters and drops them into the most mundane situations imaginable. Think supernatural warriors arguing over snacks or getting way too competitive about everyday nonsense. Each episode clocks in at about 4 minutes, so you can burn through the whole 25-episode ONA in under two hours without even trying. This is basically the comedy spinoff that lets the Tougen Anki cast breathe outside of all the mythology-driven conflict. You don't strictly need to watch the main series first, but the character dynamics hit harder if you do. The humor leans into the absurdity of ancient faction rivalries playing out in totally low-stakes contexts, and AQUA ARIS keeps the animation loose and expressive enough to match the tone. If you liked the vibe of Lucky Star where it's mostly characters just bouncing off each other in short comedic beats, or the cozy pacing of Non Non Biyori but swapped into a fantasy setting, this scratches a similar itch. There's a bit of Sumomomo Momomo energy too, with the whole martial-clans-but-make-it-silly angle. It's light, it's quick, and it gives you a reason to hang out with these characters when nobody's trying to kill anyone.
