EPISODE CONTEXT
Deep into the Whole Cake Island arc's escape phase, this episode follows the crew's increasingly desperate attempts to outrun Big Mom's forces after the collapse of their initial plans. The previous episodes established the overwhelming naval threat closing in, and episode 862 delivers a critical turning point in breaking through those enemy lines. It sets the stage for the continued high-seas confrontations that define the back half of this arc's climax.
