One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Two grueling years have passed since Luffy's crew last saw each other. After the devastating Summit War scattered the crew across the world, each member trained separately, getting stronger in their own way. Now Luffy and the gang are finally back together at Sabaody Archipelago, ready to head for the New World — but first they have to pass through Fish-Man Island, an underwater kingdom of mermaids and fish-men with its own complicated history and tensions. Here's the thing though — this isn't the original 57-episode stretch from the One Piece TV series. Toei Animation condensed the entire Fish-Man Island Saga down to 21 episodes with remastered visuals that actually look like a modern production. The pacing issues that plagued the original run are largely gone, and the updated art gives everything a cleaner, sharper feel. If you bounced off One Piece because of its reputation for dragging things out, this is a genuinely solid way to experience one of the post-timeskip arcs without the padding. The reunion itself is satisfying — seeing what each crew member picked up during the timeskip gives the whole thing a fresh energy. If you liked the way Naruto: Shippuden handled its timeskip power reveals, or enjoyed Fairy Tail's crew dynamics, the vibe here hits similar notes. For longtime fans, it's a tighter retelling. For newcomers curious about post-timeskip One Piece, it's a clean entry point into the crew's next chapter.
