No Longer Allowed in Another World
Oshimeter
Synopsis
On the verge of fulfilling his lifelong dream of committing double suicide with his lover, a celebrated writer gets hit by a truck and isekai'd into a fantasy world. That's the setup, and it only gets more absurd from there. This is Isekai Shikkaku, a 12-episode TV series where the protagonist Sensei has zero interest in being a hero, slaying demon kings, or doing anything the genre expects of him. He just wants to find Sacchan and, ideally, finish what they started. The elf priestess Annette who summoned him is baffled. The catgirl martial artist Tama who tags along is confused. And Sensei is mostly just melancholic and difficult. The whole thing is a dark comedy that takes a very specific real-world literary figure's personality and drops it into the most tropey fantasy setting possible, then watches the friction. It's less about the adventure and more about a man who fundamentally does not want to be there, surrounded by people who can't understand why. If you liked Konosuba's irreverent take on isekai but want something with a weirder, more existential edge, this hits that spot. Fans of The Devil Is a Part-Timer will appreciate the fish-out-of-water comedy, though the humor here is darker and more deadpan. Studio Atelier Pontdarc adapted this from a web manga, and the comedic tone carries the whole thing without ever feeling like it's trying too hard.
