📖 SYNOPSIS
Meet Fate Graphite — a gatekeeper who gets treated like garbage. In this world, you're born with a skill that basically determines your whole life, and Fate drew the short straw — his skill is called 'Gluttony,' and all it seems to do is make him constantly, painfully hungry. The holy knights who are supposed to protect people? They just use him as a punching bag. Then one day he kills a fleeing thief in self-defense, and Gluttony actually activates. Turns out the skill absorbs the stats and abilities of anything he kills. Suddenly the guy at the bottom of the food chain has a way to climb. He picks up a sentient talking sword named Greed, meets Roxy Hart — one of the few holy knights who actually has a conscience — and starts carving out a path no one thought someone like him could walk. The power system here is genuinely interesting because every fight is also a level-up, and there's a real tension around whether Gluttony will become more curse than gift as it grows. It's a 12-episode TV series from 2023 by studio A.C.G.T., based on a light novel. If you liked The Rising of the Shield Hero's underdog-fights-back energy or the power-absorption escalation in Arifureta, this scratches a similar itch. It's not reinventing the genre, but the progression from powerless to dangerous is handled well enough to keep you watching through the whole run.
