Necromancer Isekai: How I Went from Abandoned Villager to the Emperor's Favorite
Oshimeter
Synopsis
In his previous life, Matteo was a nobody — just another forgettable villager who never got his due. Then he gets reincarnated as the grandson of Lawrence, a powerful imperial aristocrat who absolutely spoils him rotten. Pretty standard second-chance fantasy setup, right? Except Matteo's magical power turns out to be the strongest ever recorded, and one of the first things he does is hatch a dragon egg that nobody else could and tame the dragon, naming her Eva. From there, he starts reviving ancient spells that the world had basically forgotten, all while his doting grandfather watches with pride. The vibe here is warm and satisfying rather than gritty. Think comfort food isekai where the main character actually gets to enjoy his new life instead of suffering through it. There's still plenty of mystery around just how deep Matteo's powers go and what his reincarnation really means, but the early stretch is more about discovery and bonding — with Eva, with Lawrence, and with a world that finally treats him like he matters. If you liked the cozy power-fantasy energy of Wise Man's Grandchild or the way That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime lets its protagonist just be ridiculously overpowered without much angst, this hits a similar note. Fans of The Rising of the Shield Hero's reincarnation angle might also find something here, though the tone is much lighter. It's a TV series from studio l-a-unch・BOX, adapted from the light novel, and it leans fully into that feel-good fantasy groove.
