Mysterious Play OVA 2

Synopsis
When Miaka came home from the book and Tamahome stayed behind, it hurt — the story felt finished. Then he comes back, reborn into the real world as a regular guy named Taka Sukunami, and somehow finds her again. For a little while, they just get to be a normal couple. Then a new student named Ren Shigyou shows up and starts quietly dismantling that peace. He's not throwing punches or summoning demons — he's charming, calculated, and turns their entire friend group against them before Miaka and Taka even understand what's happening. That slow-burn social manipulation is genuinely unsettling, and it gives the romance real stakes because the threat feels personal rather than epic. This second OVA arc keeps the fantasy mythology alive while grounding the tension in a real-world high school setting, which is a weird mix that actually works. The six-episode format keeps things tight — no filler arcs, no wasted time. If you watched the original TV series or the first OVA and got attached to these two, this picks up that emotional thread with care. Fans of Ayashi no Ceres or Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time will recognize the same shoujo DNA — complicated love, supernatural interference, and characters who are constantly being tested. It's action-packed in places but the romantic tension carries most of the weight. Worth finishing the story.
