My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Every class has that one kid nobody notices — and in his class, that kid is Oda Akira. Wallflower type, keeps his head down, blends into the background. So when his entire class gets isekai'd into a fantasy world and everyone's assigned roles like Hero, Mage, Knight — Akira gets stuck with Assassin. Except here's the thing: his stats are absurdly higher than the Hero's. And the royal family that summoned them really doesn't want him to know that. This 12-episode TV series from Sunrise follows Akira as he plays dumb, hides his real power, and quietly starts pulling at threads that the kingdom would rather stay buried. He picks up some solid companions along the way — Amelia, an elven spirit medium, and Yoru, a black cat that can shapeshift — and together they start piecing together what's actually going on behind the throne. The deeper Akira digs, the more dangerous things get, because the king himself turns out to be the problem. The vibe is less power-fantasy victory lap and more slow-burn conspiracy thriller with action beats. Akira isn't trying to be the strongest guy in the room — he's trying to figure out why he's there at all. If you liked the class-politics angle of Banished from the Hero's Party or the calculated protagonist energy of The World's Finest Assassin, this hits a similar note. There's also a bit of that Cautious Hero suspicion-of-the-system DNA running through it. Worth your time if you're into isekai that actually questions the summoning.
