Metal Fighter Miku
Oshimeter
Synopsis
By 2061, professional wrestling has evolved into Neo Pro-Wrestling, where athletes suit up in powered armor and beat the hell out of each other in the ring. Miku is a 17-year-old who grew up idolizing a Neo Wrestling champion named Aquamarine, and she's done daydreaming about it — she wants to compete. She joins the Pretty Four alongside Ginko, the hotheaded captain who leads with her fists before her brain; Nana, who looks and acts like a kid but somehow holds her own; and Sayaka, who has a complicated relationship with how striking she looks. Their coach, Eiichi Suo, was apparently a big deal once upon a time and is now a burnt-out mess, which makes him either the worst possible mentor or the most interesting one, depending on your patience. The team has their sights on Team Sapphire, the reigning champions who make them look very, very unready. It's a 13-episode TV series from J.C.Staff with that unmistakable mid-90s look and feel — think scrappy, colorful, and a little rough around the edges in the best way. If you liked Battle Athletes or Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai, this scratches a similar itch: women competing hard in a sport built for spectacle, with genuine team dynamics carrying the emotional weight between matches. The comedy and the action share equal space here, and neither one feels like filler.
