EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off 'Bone Princess,' which pushed the series' horror into tragic territory around the pursuit of eternal youth, this episode opens a new two-part story that continues that thematic thread with fresh characters and a distinct emotional angle. At episode eight of eleven, the season is in its final stretch, and 'The Last Face (Part I)' functions as a deliberate setup chapter — laying groundwork in moral ambiguity and supernatural consequence that 'The Last Face (Part II)' will pay off directly.
