Memories Off 2nd
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Six months into dating Hotaru, Ken finds himself in something comfortable — maybe a little too comfortable. She's working toward her music dreams, he's got his eyes on film school, and their relationship has that quiet, settled-in feeling. Then Tomoe shows up. She's Hotaru's best friend, which makes everything messier, and Ken finds himself genuinely drawn to her in a way he can't easily brush off. That's the setup, and this three-episode OVA doesn't let him off easy with it. This isn't a harem comedy where everyone laughs it off. It sits with the discomfort of actually liking two people, the guilt that comes with that, and how miscommunication can quietly erode something that seemed solid. The tone is slow and introspective, with a soundtrack that does a lot of heavy lifting emotionally. Based on a visual novel, it carries that branching-path DNA — multiple endings give you different ways the story can resolve, which adds some real weight to the choices being made. If you've seen White Album or Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and appreciate romance anime that treats emotional betrayal like the complicated thing it actually is, this fits that same space. It's not going to blow you away with production value, but if you want something short, melancholy, and honest about how relationships can quietly fall apart, Memories Off 2nd is worth the few hours it asks for.
