EPISODE CONTEXT
Picking up directly from Episode 7's disruption of daily life by a mysterious red light, Episode 8 escalates the consequences to a personal level as Marie falls ill and unknown creatures emerge. This marks the clear transition from the season's lighter first half into its more urgent back third. It directly sets up Episode 9, 'Lethargy Sickness ~Treatment and Research~,' where Shion's determination to cure Marie becomes the driving narrative thread heading toward the finale.
