Magi: The Kingdom of Magic
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Having barely made it out alive from their brutal clash with the shadowy organization Al-Thamen, Aladdin, Alibaba, and Morgiana are splitting up. Aladdin heads to Magnostadt, a nation run entirely by magicians, to dig into why strange things keep happening there and to level up his own magic. Alibaba goes off to train on his own terms, and Morgiana has her own path to walk. This 25-episode TV series is the second season of Magi, and it's where the story really opens up — instead of one group adventure, you're following three separate journeys that each reveal different corners of this massive world built on Middle Eastern and Silk Road folklore. The political tensions between empires start to actually matter here, and the magic system with Djinns and Metal Vessels gets way more layered. What makes it work is that the characters aren't static — Aladdin starts confronting what it means to be a Magi, and Alibaba has to figure out who he actually wants to be beyond just being brave. It gets heavy without losing the warmth between the cast. If you liked Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood's blend of politics and action, or if The Seven Deadly Sins scratched an itch but you wanted something with more depth, this fits that space well. A-1 Pictures handles the animation, and the bigger battles in the back half look genuinely great. Just make sure you've watched the first season before jumping in.
