Synopsis

Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins have barely caught their breath after narrowly defeating the Ten Commandments—a group of ancient demons with terrifying powers. You'd think they'd earned a break, and they kind of get one—for about five minutes. Turns out the Commandments aren't done, and the Sins aren't nearly strong enough for what's coming next. This 24-episode TV series is where the training arcs and backstory reveals really kick in. Each Sin gets pushed through personal trials that dig into their pasts, and some of those reveals genuinely reframe everything you thought you knew about these characters. Meliodas especially—the show starts pulling back layers on him that have been hinted at since season one, and it hits different once you see the full picture. The tone stays true to the series: goofy banter one moment, then someone's getting wrecked in a fight that actually has stakes the next. The power system keeps things interesting because every character brings something weird and specific to the table, not just bigger energy blasts. If you liked the guild dynamics and escalating threats in Fairy Tail, or the way Bleach handles its overpowered protagonist slowly revealing what he really is, this scratches a similar itch. It's also got that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood quality of tying ancient lore into present-day conflict. Fair warning though—Studio Deen's animation is a noticeable step down from earlier seasons, which is a legitimate gripe. But the story momentum carries it.

Quick Takes

The story and the reunion of all the Sins is genuinely exciting. But the animation is hard to ignore, it looks cheap and lazy in key moments that deserved so much better. Great writing held back by poor production.
had the epic clash I was waiting for, but the animation didn’t live up to how intense it felt in the manga. Story and voice work were solid, but the visuals lacked the punch I expected. Still a key episode, just underwhelming in execution
