EPISODE CONTEXT
With only four episodes remaining, episode nine sits at the point where Kachou Ouji's central threads — Oji's rekindled identity as a guitarist, the alien war depending on his music, and the fractures in his domestic life — must begin converging toward resolution. The groundwork laid in earlier episodes around Oji's complicated relationship with his past and the mysterious Layla should be paying off in more direct ways now. What happens here almost certainly sets the emotional and narrative conditions for the final push to the series' conclusion.
