Synopsis

After transferring to a new high school, Nobuaki Kanazawa has one rule for himself: don't get close to anyone. He's cold, distant, and clearly carrying something heavy. Then every student in his class gets the same text message from someone calling themselves 'The King,' and the game begins. Follow the King's orders within 24 hours or die. His classmates laugh it off at first — it has to be a prank, right? But Nobuaki isn't laughing, because he's played this game before, and he already knows how it ends. The thing is, nobody believes the weird quiet transfer student screaming about a death game until the bodies start dropping. This 12-episode TV series leans hard into the survival horror side of things, with escalating orders that force students to turn on each other. The story bounces between Nobuaki's current nightmare and flashbacks to his previous game, so you're piecing together what happened to him while watching history repeat itself in real time. The tension comes less from gore and more from watching trust dissolve under pressure — who cooperates, who panics, who betrays. If you liked the deadly class dynamics of Danganronpa: The Animation or the creeping dread of Another, this hits similar notes. It also shares DNA with Deadman Wonderland in how it throws teenagers into impossible, violent situations. The tone is dark and emotional throughout, never really letting up once things start going wrong.
