Synopsis

Nozomu Sunafuki is deeply strange — this mysterious transfer student is remembered by different people, from wildly different points in their lives, all as a teenager. Same face, same age, different times. That's the thread holding Kakyusei 2 together, and it's a genuinely interesting one. The show is grounded in a regular Japanese high school, following Rouma Oriya, a kickboxing club member who'd rather do basically anything except train, and his friend Tamaki who's constantly on his case about it. Normal stuff. But Nozomu's arrival starts pulling at something bigger — a web of relationships and memories that don't quite add up the way they should. The series has 13 episodes and handles its ensemble well, giving different characters room to breathe while the central mystery quietly builds underneath the everyday school drama and light comedy. It's emotional and romantic in that understated way that slow-burn school anime tend to do well. If you liked the melancholy romantic atmosphere of Gift: Eternal Rainbow or the character-focused storytelling in Kiniro no Corda: Primo Passo, this fits comfortably in that space. It won't reinvent anything, but if you're in the mood for something that mixes youthful romance with a genuinely curious narrative hook — a boy who seems to exist outside of time, touching lives across different eras — it's worth the 13 episodes.
