EPISODE CONTEXT
Episodes 1-2 established the brutal reality of Kaiji's underground labor camp and the oppressive system designed to keep men broken and in debt — 'Bits of Luck' marks the point where Kaiji begins probing for cracks in that system. This is still setup territory at episode 3 of 26, laying critical groundwork for the strategic escalation that follows in 'The Beginnings of a Comeback,' where Kaiji's schemes start taking sharper form.
