JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Framed for a crime she didn't commit, Jolyne Cujoh is sentenced to 15 years in a Florida prison. Bad enough on its own, but then she finds out the whole thing was orchestrated by forces connected to her estranged father Jotaro Kujo's supernatural past. A mysterious pendant from dear old dad awakens her Stand ability, Stone Free, which lets her literally unravel her body into strings — and yeah, it's as wild as it sounds. This 12-episode ONA from David Production is the sixth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and it's the first one with a female JoJo at the center. The prison setting gives everything a claustrophobic tension that the series hasn't really had before. Jolyne's surrounded by bizarre inmates with their own Stand abilities, and the fights lean hard into the creative problem-solving that makes JoJo battles so satisfying to watch. You're not just seeing who punches harder — you're watching characters figure out how string, stickers, and weather can be weaponized in ways that shouldn't make sense but absolutely do. The animation pops with David Production's signature style, bold colors and stylized poses that feel ripped straight from Hirohiko Araki's manga pages. If you liked the strategic depth of Hunter x Hunter's fights or the "escape the corrupt system" energy of Persona 5: The Animation, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Fist of the North Star's raw intensity will find plenty to appreciate here too. It's JoJo doing a prison break thriller, and the combo just works.
